Ceci Luepnitz
Ceci Luepnitz is a portrait artist in the classical realist tradition. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Always drawing as a child, she was inspirted by portrait drawings of her grandfather. At age 17, Ceci enrolled in the Art School of Newcomb College, the Women's College of Tulane University, only to find out that the emphasis, at that time, was abstract art. She changed her major to art history, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Ceci's love of art and drawing, especially portraits, continued as she raised her three children and in 1986, she began to seek out training in professional portrait painting. She has taken classes from Daniel Greene and John Howard Sanden at the Portrait Institute in New york, Harley Brown and Morgan Weistling at The Scottsdale Artist's School, and Johnnie Liliedahl, Michael Shane Neal and Kay Polk.
The artist is a member of the Portrait Society of America, the Cecelia Beaux Forum, and Lone Start Art Guild, and the Brazos Valley Art League's juried shows.
